Two of my short stories are out there...

as part of two different anthologies, both in kindle and paperback.

My short story “The Broken Wing of Your Ideal” is about a woman who volunteers to recruit people who want to learn to read and write  in a poor neighborhood in Buenos Aires.
This short story was accepted for the  Freedom Forge Press Anthology, which is a compilation of essays and fictional tales related to freedom.
My story "A Hospital in Latin America" is included in the "You, Me & a Bit of We" Anthology. It is based on a true story that I fictionalized.
The "You, Me & a Bit of We" Anthology is a celebration of writing in first and second person.
I will probably be blogging less frequently in September because I will focus on other writing projects that need my attention. The news is that my blogging schedule will continue to be irregular on a regular basis.
My question for you is the following: Do you prefer other bloggers to have a regular blogging schedule or are you indifferent to it?
Another important reason for blogging less frequently is that I’m also starting a new job in September. Outside my writing life I have another career that I love. I don't make a living writing. Writing is  a passion, an inner call that I cannot silence. It is something I will do until I die. In fact, there is nothing I do without passion.
 I am made of passion.
  Till next time.

  1. Good luck on the new job. Post to your blog whenever you feel like. That's what I do.

  2. Hi, Julia, I always enjoy your posts whenever you have time to post. I don't post as regularly as the wisdom out there says you should, but then if I did, it probably would become mechanical. Like Richard, I post when I feel like it. Your blog is so interesting that people will keep coming back to see when you do post. Congratulations on your two stories being published, and good luck on your new job.

    1. Thanks Elizabeth. You made my day.
I am overwhelmed by ideas for short stories and poems... and even for a novel.
I try to do one thing at a time because a day only has 24 hours and I have other responsibilities as well.

  3. This sounds weird, but I focus on visiting people who comment on my blog, so that determines how often I stop by, rather than the frequency with which the blogger posts. So if you have a new post out, just drop by my blog and say hi, and I'll definitely stop by sometime. (Hopefully, I'll be up to date on my comment visits by the end of September.)

Anyway, prioritizing writing is the right thing to do. Good luck with your WiP. :-)

    1. Lovely, Misha. I will be visiting your blog, of course.
      Thank you for the encouragement.

  4. Hi Julia .. well done on the new job .. enjoy it.

It's great that you have a passion for writing and it's something that keeps your mind busy, while doing some of the mundane things in life ... but that leads you to completing your stories et al ...

The two short stories have a wonderful feel for them .. and good luck with the interest there ...

I blog when I feel or get a post written up ... my posts are long, but I enjoy writing them ...

I think I should probably do what Misha does comment when someone leaves a comment for me - I'm not that good at doing that .. I must rearrange my thoughts ...

Cheers and happy September - Hilary

    1. Thanks, Hilary.
My writing is a part of my life. I can't imagine my life without writing.
For this reason I am thinking that blogging less will help me to focus on my literary goals, to concentrate on what I want to do.

  5. Thank you so much for your visit and comment, Julia. It's wonderful to meet you. Although I have a schedule of only posting on the weekdays now instead of everyday, it doesn't matter to me what everybody else does because I have the widget on my sidebar that informs me when anyone posts.
