Happy International Dance Day

Three things to remember

As long as you're dancing, you can
   break the rules.
Sometimes breaking the rules is just
extending the rules.

  Sometimes there are no rules.

Mary Oliver ( A poem from her collection "A Thousand Mornings")

  1. I should be dancing, yeah. Rules? What rules? Absolutely correct. In fact, grammar anarchy is the way forward :)

Happy, hopeful adventures to you, Julia.

    1. Well, I'm not so daring, Gary.
But I do let go of some "rules" to avoid stifling my creativity.
      Happy dancing, my friend!

    2. And the nice thing about corporal expression is that we create our own rules.

  2. I love the quote, Julia. Thinking of you as you do your dance!

  3. I did not know there was an International Dance Day. In fact I was thinking of you just this afternoon as i passed my tap shoes, crying in the dance box. I wished, at that precise moment that there were more hours in a day so I could get to practice tap ( but I'd just rock pick a little longer, I suppose) and then my thoughts concentrated on you and I wondered how your tapping was coming.

Today I made a winding path made of pavers, from the new chicken coop to connect with the sidewalk. My aching back but already it's beginning to look like a country garden. There will be veggies and flowers, more little winding paths and chickens.
Dance for me tomorrow too, as it's the last day of the Callenge.

    1. Yesterday, when my instructor of corporal expression told me it was International Dance Day, I remembered you, Manzanita! What an interesting coincidence!
I'd love to have more hours in a day too. Yes, I've made some progress with my tap dancing. I have fun with them. Thank you for asking. That's so nice of you.
I hope your back is much better and that you enjoy your dancing. Share some pictures of your beautiful garden.
      Hugs.

    2. That was neat, each thinking of the other at the same time. My back did suffer from carrying the heavy cement things, There is so much to do yet.... like painting the coop and the new tool shed,. I'm happy that your tapping is improving and then you can try out again for another show. You most likely could have done it before but it might give you more confidence.

I have an image in my mind of what I want the garden to look like but right now it's just bare dirt with a chicken coop sitting on it. I want a mixture of veggies and flowers but our growing season is so short that it won't look like much this year. I ran across a great find of an old wooden wine barrel that I'm going to put the long-handled tools in. It is so heavy that I had to ask my neighbor for help in getting it off the truck.

Have fun dancing.... I have to take the dog to the park and throw the ball.
